Yazan Alsabbagh

Yazan Alsabbagh is a Syrian clarinetist and producer from Damascus. He started learning the piano at the age of 7 and clarinet at 14. In 2012 Yazan entered the High Institute of Music in Damascus and, after three years, moved to Germany to finish his bachelor’s degree. Yazan studied classical music at the Barenboim Academy in Berlin and audio engineering at Hofa Hochschule. While studying in Damascus, he played several concerts with the Syrian National Symphony Orchestra as a guest clarinetist. Due to his passion for oriental music, he was invited to perform as a soloist with the Oriental Music Symphony Orchestra, playing pieces that he composed himself or that were written specifically for him. He gave many concerts with his bands in different venues in Germany such as the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, the Jazz Festival Stuttgart and the Pierre Boulez Hall in Berlin.
